Kaelen Gouveia (He/They) began dancing under the direction of Desire Cremer at Aiea High School on the island of Oahu. He furthered his technical training at Towson University, earning a B.F.A. in Dance Performance and Choreography. Later he attended the Ruth Page Pre-Professional Development Training Program, formally known as the Civic Ballet Training Company. They have worked with notable choreographers such as Kia Smith, Noelle Kayser, Shannon Alvis, Nejla Yatkin, Natasha Adorlee, Rigo Saura, Paula Sousa, Jessi Stegall, and Jan Bartoszek. Additionally, he has danced for Chicago’s Superbloom POP with the Seldoms, NewDances, PrideFest, and Ruth Page Civic Ballet's Nutcracker. Most recently Kaelen had the pleasure of touring Germany with Hedwig Dances. He recently completed his third season with Hedwig Dances and his first season with Noumenon Dance Ensemble.
